Restoration & Implants
If missing teeth are causing you to miss out on culinary indulgences and dropping your self-esteem, a dental implant is the answer to your pain and grief. At DENTO HUB, Dr. Ajay Sharma, our implantologist, can fill the gap in your life (and your teeth) by replacing them with high-quality dental implants, assisted by cutting-edge technology and the extensive experience of our dentists.
Over the last few years, dental implants have been very effective in changing the face of dentistry. Our dentists will analyze your unique requirements, and accordingly endorse the right implants. These high-quality implants are made of titanium, one of the most biocompatible materials available today.
You may be advised a dental implant in the following scenarios, if all the prerequisites are met
- When you’re missing single or multiple teeth
- To remove and replace damaged teeth
- If the bridge between healthy teeth needs additional support
- When all the teeth from the upper or lower jaw are missing
Common Causes of Tooth Loss
We are all uncovered to habits that result in higher stress on our teeth, impacting oral health in the long run. With the ever-increasing changes in our lifestyles, dental issues have become quite common. The hectic lives we lead often result in initial symptoms being ignored, until they become interferences, at which point they need expert treatment.
Some of the common reasons of tooth loss are
- Cavities and tooth-decay
- Injury and long-term trauma
- Gum disease
- Failure of root canal procedure
- Congenital defects
Prerequisites for Dental Implants
Implants are long-lasting, permanent solutions for difficulties which are beyond the point of restoration. These implants are built of titanium and anchored to an artificial tooth. Unlike dentures, they don’t cause any uneasiness when you’re eating or drinking, which makes them far more preferable, especially if you’re still young and otherwise healthy!
There are 3 basic criteria that you must meet before you consider implants
- Good quality and quantity of bone to anchor the implant
- The gum round the affected area should be healthy and free of any periodontal disease
- The adjacent teeth should be healthy and strong enough to support the implant
Our specialist team comprises of highly-experienced dentists who have undergone special training and operate in well-equipped environs, to ensure your implants look and feel just like your original teeth.
The treatment characteristically begins with a consultation with one of our dentists, who will discuss your medical history, current oral health any medication you may be on. Based on the consultation, we will suggest a treatment plan that best fits your unique needs.
During the procedure
Once a treatment plan has been fixed, the dentist will place the implant in a single sitting, but it would require a period of Osseo integration (the anchoring of your dental implant to the jawbone). Within as little as three to six months, once the implant is completely healed, a simple follow-up is required to complete the procedure by placing a crown restoration.
Our focused team carefully manages tissue, to minimize any discomfort you may feel during or after the procedure. The dentist will typically prescribe anti-inflammatory medication and an anti-bacterial mouth rinse to aid the healing process. Every situation is unique, so consult our dentists on post-procedural care and read our Implants after Care Form carefully.
Limitations of Dental Implants
Though they’re few, there are certain limitation and specific cases where implants might not be feasible, like
- When the jawbone is not thick enough to lodge the implants
- For patients suffering from uncontrolled diabetes or untreated periodontitis
- If patients have immune-system deficiencies
- For patients with severe systemic illnesses or blood-clotting disorders
- Drug abuse
